RISE OF NEXUS — PRODUCTION UPDATE
– Tue, Sep 15, 2026 at 07:37:55 AM
We’ve officially hit another major milestone.
All figure parts and tooling files have now been handed off to our project manager and factory.
This is a huge step for us. We’re moving out of the development phase and into the part where all of this work starts becoming a real, physical toy line.
BACKERKIT PAYMENTS
Just a reminder: BackerKit payments are currently planned to be collected sometime in December.
Before we collect those funds, I will make sure everyone receives at least 30 days’ advance notice. Nobody is going to wake up one morning to a surprise BackerKit charge.
We’ll communicate the collection date well in advance so everyone has time to prepare and make any necessary changes.
BI-WEEKLY PRODUCTION UPDATES
From here on out, I’m planning to move to bi-weekly updates covering everything that has happened during those two weeks.
Of course, if something big happens in between, tooling progress, samples, factory photos, major approvals, etc., I’m not going to make you wait two weeks to see it.
My goal is to share as much of this process as I reasonably can, from where we are today all the way until Rise of Nexus lands in the USA.
You backed the project. I think you should get to see how the toys actually get made.
If you’d rather not have these bi-weekly updates filling up your inbox, now would be a good time to adjust your email notification settings. If you would still like to see these updates, then you can just head on over the updates section of the campaign.
WHAT AM I DOING NEXT?
Handing the files over doesn't mean I'm sitting around waiting for toys to show up.
Over the next couple of months, I’ll be:
• Finalizing the packaging artwork.
• Finalizing Pantone colors and figure decos.
• Completing the BOMs for the remaining waves of figures. (12 more to go)
• Developing new character designs and working with our engineers to bring them to life. (1 new design currently in the hopper :o )
• Working on a vehicle design. 👀
• Putting together all of the bonus add-ons. (Trading Cards, Pin, etc..)
• Writing, editing, and lettering the Rise of Nexus comic.
• And somewhere in the middle of all of that…
Going on vacation with my family.
There is still a tremendous amount of work ahead of us, but this feels like one of those moments worth stopping for a second and appreciating.
Smoke Test Is Live, BOM Is Complete, and What's Next

Hey Risers,
We've got a lot of exciting news to share so let's get into it.
Check Your Email. BackerKit Smoke Test Is Live
Card art by Eddie Beis
A small group of backers, about 5% of you have already received their BackerKit surveys as part of our smoke test. This is a standard process where we send surveys to a small sample first to catch any errors or needed changes before rolling out to everyone.
To see if you're in that group, please check your email and complete your survey as soon as possible. Your feedback helps us make sure everything is perfect before the full survey goes out to all backers. We appreciate your patience and your help getting this right.
Wave 1 Bill of Materials Is Complete
This one is big. Our Wave 1 Bill of Materials, the complete breakdown of every single part that makes up each figure is done. Our part numbering system is fully in place, which means we are ready to send everything to the factory.
We know that might sound like a behind-the-scenes detail but trust us, this is the moment it all becomes real, real.
We are so excited about this one.
Conventions. Where We're Headed Next
We won't be making it to Joelanta this year, we had our annual family vacation planned on the same weekend and family comes first. We'll be back next year.
The good news is we already have a strong presence here in the South, and we're actively looking to expand our reach to the West Coast, Northeast, and Midwest. We want to bring Rise of Nexus™ to as many collectors as possible across the country.
First up, we are planning to be at Codename: Iowa for Assembly Required in November. More details to come as we get closer.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Collect. Battle. Rise.

So. Much. News. (Factory Talks, Trading Cards, and a Cover That's About to Get VERY Colorful)

Buckle up, because this is a big one. Grab a snack. Maybe two.
Tooling Update from Shawn Houser
Shawn's been hard at work fixing up the tooling files, and here's what's now locked in: all hardware is universal, all weapons are universal, the holster plug-in system is universal, a bunch of thickness issues got fixed, the long hair parts have been separated out, and, maybe the best part, males and females can now hold the same accessories, with universal back and foot plugs across the board. Big thanks to Shawn for grinding through this.
Next Up: The Factory
This week I'm sitting down with the proofs from Whiskey Jack Toys for Seiko in Horai, approving PMS colors, packaging, and the final product.
Right after that, I'm hopping on a call with our project manager, Jason Schiermeyer, to talk next steps and keep the factory conversation moving. I keep saying I'm going to do this, but I've mainly been waiting on the parts updates before we move forward, no reason to have a meeting just to schedule another meeting. Now that Shawn's fixes are in hand, it's finally time.

Trading Cards: DONE
Eddie Beis has finished all the trading card art. All nine of them. Next up is pre-press layout, which is the unglamorous but very important job of making sure all nine actually line up like the final image.
The Comic Cover Just Got a Glow-Up
George Vega has completed the pencils and inks for the alternate Rise of Nexus cover. And yes, before you ask, that George Vega. The one who's done work for Skybound and GI Joe. That guy. Drawing our cover. We're still a little starstruck over here.
And it doesn't stop there. up next, Alex Sinclair is doing the colors. Also yes, that Alex Sinclair. The guy who got his start at Wildstorm, then spent decades coloring some of DC's biggest books: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, before eventually branching out to Marvel too. So basically our alternate cover is being built by an absolute murderers' row of comic talent, and we get to just stand here and say "wow".
One more thing
I'm trying to space these updates out and not flood your inbox with a wall of weekly emails, if nothing major's happening, I'd rather wait until there's something worth sharing than send filler. That said, if you've got questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. I do my best to respond within 24 hours, but between notifications, a full-time job, and this closet shelf project I'm currently in the middle of, it's possible I miss one, if you don't hear back, just try again, it's not intentional.

Behind the Scenes + Why Everything's Unlocked
about 2 months ago
– Mon, Aug 10, 2026 at 01:49:11 PM
Hi everyone, we've been working hard behind the scenes putting BackerKit together and updating the all-new riseofnexus.com and solidraven.com website, while also working closely with our engineers before we send files to the factory.
Since we launched the backerkit on Saturday, we've gotten this question a few times, and while everybody's been super excited that all the figures are unlocked, we wanted to give a full explanation. If you missed out on going all-in, late pledges are still active on Kickstarter!
Why are all 18 figures unlocked?
A few reasons came together:
We're in talks to offer the line through BigBadToyStore (BBTS). As a big retailer with real reach, they can help make up a lot of the MOQ and close the difference we still need to hit. International customers especially love BBTS, so it opens us up to a new audience we haven't fully tapped yet.
Late pledges are open and BackerKit is still actively funding. No reason to gate figures when momentum is still building.
We'll have plenty of time after tooling wraps to decide which waves ship stateside first, so unlocking now doesn't lock us into a shipping order.
The add-ons that didn't unlock remain locked, with one exception, the comic book. The funding needed to produce the other add-ons was baked into each stretch goal's total, so by not offering those add-ons yet, we're able to keep the asking amount lower for each stretch goal.
Plus a bunch of other smaller reasons that just made sense once we sat down and looked at where things stood.
What about Seiko in Horai?
Seiko in Horai was originally a bonus stretch goal, something extra special we wanted to offer if we made it past Monarch. He's a Legends of the Hidden Force × Rise of Nexus collaboration figure, and he's available as a pre-order through BackerKit. Backers who hit $200 or more in pre-orders between 8/8 - 8/15 get him free. So to be clear, he will not be included in the All-In tiers.
